Last night, a friend from church texted so excited she got her first wide brim for her birthday. I told her, “I will wear one, if you wanna wear yours.” Our friend, brought her hat with her this morning but per her dad, “doesn’t have the confidence to wear it.”

Now, I know how hard it is to kinda come into your own in your teen years. I vividly remember the first time I actually “did” my hair, like put effort into it. I was 13 and a boy in my class, laughed his head off at my new hairstyle when he saw me. I have always remembered that feeling of embarrassment. I would never want anyone to have that feeling. I told her after services that if she likes it, she needs to wear it…but I get it.
